I remember playing it, that game
the ball attached by a rope
like a leash,
redundant.
Hitting something as hard as it could be hit,
watching it spin,
watching it continue.
The impact didn’t matter,
the result was the same –
spinning, spinning.
Never traveling farther
than the already existing circumference.
The boundary remained,
unchanged and complacent,
rotating until it was tangled tightly.
Until it was over,
ending abruptly
only to be replayed
exactly the same way.
