 Including the 9.2 million people that use heroin, its estimated that 13.5 million people in the World take opioids (opium-like substances). 93% of the world’s opium came from Afghanistan in 2007. On the National Survey on Drug Use and Health in 2007 it was reported that 153,000 current Heroin users were in the U.S. Other figures were estimated as high as 900,000. 18% of the admissions of drug and alcohol treatment in the U.S. is for opiates, mainly heroin. These stats are from 10 years ago you guys. Can you imagine what they would be now? Let’s all take a stand and say, “We are #FedUp.” It’s past time to bring National Awareness to the opioid epidemic. #StandUnited
