MG Award: Jamie Waller

This one is awesome to write because so many people could not have been more wrong about one individual. I have written for quite a few platforms and never really had a stable home to exhibit my work. I began my journey in an online recovery group and moved to a page. With time the more I took on, the more I realized the need for a place to call home.

I met Jamie two years ago, never really paying much attention to where this friendship would lead. But he is by far more honest and forthcoming than anyone I’ve met. He is a great person and asset to our mission with addiction and recovery. He single handedly turns our ideas into reality because he believes as much as we do in this cause.

As of this past November, I have spent a year working alongside two people who have been motivational towards everything we have accomplished this year as a team, working together closely. We established this amazing website. It’s amazing to be a part of his creative genius as our ideas come to life by his just making sure that we are able to freely share our messages, individually and as a team.

2017 was eventful for new beginnings. Not only did Operation Clean Recovery begin and establish a name for itself due to our honest values, but we also took part in the birth of the future for the addiction and recovery community.

Recovery Nation is a social media outlet founded on the safety and confidentiality that has failed to have been produced elsewhere.  Recovery Nation will lead us towards the unified hope that second chances are possible. True inspiration comes from few places, but I have found mine. Without Jamie and my amazing editor, I would have become just another number in the statistics that are ravaging our nation.

Society is cruel on many levels. Many have found themselves victims to the behind the scenes gossip that fuels others with contradiction of self. I am glad that I have not listened to others and take the time to form my own personal feelings based on the actions I see. I have heard promises from so many people during my journey in my own recovery, but it wasn’t until I began working with Jamie that I was able to see real results.

I don’t need to brag him up to unimaginable levels because his dedication and strength speak for themselves. I also cannot aptly express the gratitude that a lot of us have for so many of the great things he is behind. We are a hand-picked team that chose each other and all I know is I am amazed with what we have done and what we will continue to bring forth for others.

So, it is with a standing ovation, that I congratulate you, Jamie, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all you do!
